Expanding clinical trial support in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with a new automated kit production line
As part of a global growth and expansion strategy, we’re announcing the spring opening of a new kit production line at our European Operations Center (EOC). Based in Mechelen, Belgium, the EOC is a multi-use facility that handles dry ice production and distribution for the EU, as well as study and logistics support. This new automated kit production line will produce industry-leading specimen collection kits for investigator sites in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Delivering an additional kit production location with the same high-quality kits
Currently more than 4.4 million kits are produced and shipped per year by the Central Lab in Indianapolis, IN, US, supporting biopharmaceutical companies globally with high-quality kits that sponsors and investigator sites have come to rely on. Each protocol- and visit-specific kit contains an average of 20 items, customized to meet the unique needs of every clinical trial protocol.
The new kit production line at the EOC will follow the same standard operating procedures as the Indianapolis location. Sponsors and investigators will continue to enjoy the same high-quality kits they already associate with us. Kits which have a proven track record of delivering with 99.995% accuracy.
Ramping up kit production throughout 2021
The expansion to support EMEA studies will ultimately double automated production capacity as the operations scale up throughout 2021. Not only will this increase help strengthen business continuity infrastructure, but sponsors can also expect additional reliability to handle unexpected disruptions or surges in demand.
Currently, kits intended for investigator sites in EMEA are produced in Indianapolis and shipped to the EOC for distribution across the region. Now, with the EOC as a new resource, sponsors with sites in EMEA can expect improved turnaround time and increasing flexibility in ordering times as kit production scales up.
